Anne Rapp

Anne Rapp is a script supervisor in the movie industry and has worked on more than 50 feature films, beginning with “Tender Mercies” in 1981 and ending this year with “Green Hornet," a Sony comedy to be released Christmas 2010. She has worked with many acclaimed directors including Judd Apatow, Harold Ramis, Jake Kasdan, Lawrence Kasdan, Sydney Pollack, Robert Benton, Bruce Beresford, Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemekis, David Mamet, Ken Kwapis, Rob Reiner, Bill Forsythe and Tom Hanks. She began writing short stories in the mid 90s which led to a job writing for Robert Altman. Altman put her under contract for 3 years and directed two of her original screenplays, “Cookie’s Fortune” and “Dr. T and the Women.” Altman also directed a television episode written by Anne for the ABC series “Gun” entitled "All the President's Women." The screenplay for “Cookie’s Fortune” earned Anne an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1999, as well as an Edgar Allen Poe nomination. In 2002 she wrote a television special for CMT, a live Texas music variety show called “Stars over Texas,” hosted by Ray Benson and featuring Dolly Parton and Vince Gill. In 2005 she teamed up with Benson again and co-wrote the musical "A Ride With Bob," a stage performance about the life and legacy of Bob Wills. The musical is still being performed around the country and has dates booked throughout 2010. Anne is currently directing and producing a documentary about Horton Foote and is in negotiation with the PBS series American Masters for a pick up and air date in the fall of in 2010. Anne has also published several short stories and essays. She continues to write screenplays in hopes of getting another movie made and collecting residuals greater than fifteen dollars. She lives in Austin, Texas where she has twice served as a visiting professor of screenwriting at the Michener Center for Writers.
