The Austin Film Festival is dedicated to championing the work of aspiring and established filmmakers, defined as screenwriters, directors, editors, producers, actors and all those artists who use the language of film to tell a story. The AFF furthers the art, craft and business of filmmaking by providing unique cultural events and services, enhancing public awareness and participation, and encouraging dynamic and long-lasting community partnerships.

The Austin Film Festival is a not for profit 501c3 corporation.

SCREENPLAY COMPETITION AWARDS

All awards will be presented October 23, 2010, during the Austin Film Festival Awards Luncheon. Those advancing to the semifinalist level or beyond will have the option to attend exclusive Master Panels hosted by participating panelists. They will also be included in the Producer's Book, distributed to competition judges and other interested industry parties.

Screenplay Competition Prizes (1 winner per category)

The Drama Winner Receives: $5,000 cash; reimbursement of roundtrip airfare (up to $500, excluding frequent flyer miles); hotel reimbursement at the Film Festival (up to $500); and the AFF bronze typewriter award

The Comedy Winner Receives: $5,000 cash; reimbursement of roundtrip airfare (up to $500, excluding frequent flyer miles); hotel reimbursement at the Film Festival (up to $500); and the AFF bronze typewriter award

Prizes (may be considered for the Drama and Comedy awards)

Latitude Production Award winner Receives: $2500 cash; reimbursement of roundtrip airfare (up to $500, excluding frequent flyer miles); hotel reimbursement at the Film Festival (up to $500); the AFF bronze typewriter award; and meet with Curtis Burch for an opportunity to be considered for production by Latitude Productions (www.latitudeproductions.com). In order to be considered for this award, you must be entered in the Drama or Comedy Category.

Sci-Fi Award Winner Receives: $2500; reimbursement of roundtrip airfare (up to $500, excluding frequent flyer miles); hotel reimbursement at the Film Festival (up to $500); and the AFF bronze typewriter award. In order to be considered for this award, you must be entered in the Drama or Comedy Category.

TELEPLAY COMPETITION AWARDS Prizes (1 winner per category)

The Drama Winner Receives: $1,000 cash; reimbursement of roundtrip airfare (up to $500 excluding frequent flyer miles); hotel reimbursement at the Film Festival (up to $500); and the AFF bronze typewriter award.

The Sitcom Winner Receives: $1,000 cash; reimbursement of roundtrip airfare (up to $500 excluding frequent flyer miles); hotel reimbursement at the Film Festival (up to $500); and the AFF bronze typewriter award.

Finalists in all categories receive: one complimentary Producer's Badge to attend) the Austin Film Festival and Conference (value $650) and one complimentary Awards Luncheon Ticket.

All Semifinalists may purchase a Producer Badge at the discounted price of $150.
