The Austin Film Festival is dedicated to championing the work of aspiring and established filmmakers, defined as screenwriters, directors, editors, producers, actors and all those artists who use the language of film to tell a story. The AFF furthers the art, craft and business of filmmaking by providing unique cultural events and services, enhancing public awareness and participation, and encouraging dynamic and long-lasting community partnerships.
The Austin Film Festival is a not for profit 501c3 corporation.
Curtis Burch
Curtis Burch is president of Latitude Productions, an independent feature film production company based in Los Angeles. Latitude has two films in pre-production, one of which originated at the Austin Film Festival: The Man in the Rearview Mirror (AFF ’06) written by Andy Pagana and Justin Thomas and to be directed by Michael Rymer (“Battlestar Galactica”) and to star Shirley MacLaine. The other film, Words and Pictures, was written by Gerald DiPego (Phenomenon, The Forgotten) and is to be directed by Fred Schepisi (Six Degrees of Separation, Roxanne). Burch was vice president of creative affairs at Jim Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment and before that was an executive at Castle Rock Entertainment. He developed such projects as The Fugitive, The Running Man, and Unlawful Entry.
