Coverage

Coverage is the first and last impression of your screenplay into the Hollywood system. It determines whether you will be heard, or ignored. Coverage can work against you, the writer, but it doesn't have to.

Once submitted to Hollywood, a script is carefully analyzed and graded, its flaws and strengths are noted and the overall product is given one of three ratings: Pass, Consider or Recommend. These ratings are not designed to assist the writer, but rather, they are intended as a time saving tool for production companies. The Coverage rating is a stamp across the front of your script in order to allow a quick judgment. Worst of all, the factors and opinions contributing to this rating are not made available to the writer. However, the studio coverage will be passed through Hollywood making your first impression the only impression.

The purpose of AFF Coverage is not to brand your work; it is intended as a tool to help make your script better, to prepare you for Hollywood submission. AFF Coverage provides an insider«É's edge, a glimpse of how the system works and a chance to improve without the risk of putting a poor Coverage rating into the system.

What Do You Get?

  • The log-line a studio reader might use to describe your story
  • A critical evaluation of the elements of that story
  • An idea of the project's market potential
  • All Coverage returned within 60 days of submission.
