Student Film Expo

Austin filmmakers Chris Maas, David Layton, and Ya’Ke Smith were participants in the 4th annual Student Film Expo
The third annual Austin Student Filmmaking Expo will be held on April 28th at the Arthouse at the Jones Center and will feature some of the best work by local high school filmmaking groups as well as a panel by local filmmakers on making movies in Austin.
The expo is an event to educate Austin-area youth and families about local filmmaking opportunities by providing an arena for student film organizations to share their work. All local non-profit organizations offering filmmaking programs for students ages 13-17 are invited to participate in the Expo. The event is open to the general public at no cost.
The Expo will commence in the evening with a panel of local filmmakers discussing the art and craft of filmmaking. Following that, we will screen about 60 minutes of student-created films.
Representatives from all the organizations will be on hand, and local teens may get more information about many local high school filmmaking organizations.
