Festival and Conference Scholarship Program
Austin Film Festival’s Young Filmmakers Program (YFP) Arts Education Outreach Scholarship grants access to over 300 scholarships for students and teachers in middle and high school. Participants are given the opportunity to attend the 21st Annual Austin Film Festival & Conference, October 23 – 30, 2014, to learn more about the art and business of filmmaking and screenwriting. Specifically designed student panels are held Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25, and teacher panels are held Sunday, October 26.
Schools are eligible for up to 15 student scholarships and 2 teacher/chaperone scholarships. Scholarships are limited to one (1) 2014 Conference Badge per participant. This badge grants access to the following:
- All four days of conference panels
- All eights days of film screenings with priority entry
- Meet and Greets
- Exhibit Hall
*No one under 21 is admitted to any AFF party.

Young Filmmakers Program Pitch Session
(High school students only)

Co-sponsored by the Mobile Film School, the student pitch session gives high school students the opportunity to pitch their best story ideas to industry professionals in an encouraging setting where they receive constructive feedback. Watch the finalists battle it out and learn more about the art of the pitch.

Young Filmmakers Panel
Sit down with the creative minds behind SPY KIDS, Rugrats, OVER THE HEDGE and GROUNDHOG DAY for a discussion on the craft of filmmaking and screenwriting. Geared toward young filmmakers, this panel provides a great opportunity to learn from industry professionals as they discuss their careers in film and the creative process.
